HOW CAN
"I" HELP?
Our largest source of
revenue beyond food distribution is through donations. This source
of revenue is critical to the individuals and families we serve
throughout Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties. Supporting a favorite
charitable organization, like Catholic Social Services, can take
many forms. An individual just needs to determine what form meets
his or her goals and desires. Making a charitable gift can be personally
rewarding, significantly impacting someone in need and provide a tax benefit to the donor.
Several forms of giving include:

-
Online Giving - Online
Giving is becoming a growing and more popular way for individuals
to support a favorite charitable organization, like Springfield
Catholic Social Services. You may find it, like others have,
to be an easier method on your own schedule for giving. All
gifts to Springfield Catholic Social Services remain in our
service area of Clark, Champaign and Logan Counties. For
your convenience you may make your tax deductible
donation now
by submitting the form below. A credit card receipt and
tax-deduction letter will be sent to you at the address
provided. For your security,
ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIT CARD DATA IS RETAINED AFTER
PROCESSING TO PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION!
- Annual Giving
-
An annual gift or gifts of cash during
the year can support the operation of our agency. Gifts can be
made year round beyond the
two-planned mail solicitations we schedule during the June "Hunger" mailing
and the "Holiday" mailing.
-
Capital Gifts
- If you prefer, a large one-time
capital gift can be made to help with
the renovation of our facilities or designated
to support one of our programs or service areas.
-
Appreciated Securities -
Donated securities may allow you to avoid or reduce capital gains
taxes and receive a federal income tax deduction. If you possess
bonds, mutual funds or stocks that have appreciated in value
but yield a low dividend you may find this an attractive option.
-
Planned Gifts -
You may wish to make provisions for a planned
gift to Catholic
Social Services. Things to be considered
include the purpose of the gift, the asset you wish to use, timing
of the gift, income tax and estate tax planning. In all
cases it is recommended to consult with a financial
planner, attorney, accountant or other advisors.
- Legacy Gifts - A
family member, a special teacher or religious leader, almost anybody
who has made an impact on our life or the life of others can be
publicly recognized through a Legacy Gift.
-
Donate a Vehicle-
You can donate your used vehicle to Catholic Social Services
and receive a tax write off.
Meeting Your Goals-
There is a way to make a gift for every objective
you may have. Find out which is best for you. In almost every situation
you should consult with your advisor. It is also important to
update your will on a regular basis. Changes such as a birth, a
death, and/or marital change can quickly affect your will
and other documents. Tax law changes can also impact your situation.
