Frequently Asked Questions If you have a burning question that needs answered, click below and send us an inquiry: Questions_spfldcss@hotmail.com.
Q: I am concerned about using my credit card on line with all of the news regarding identity theft. A: We fully understand. That is why NO CREDIT CARD INFORMATION is retained after processing your donation in house or on line! It is totally secure! Q: Can I designate where my donation can be used? A: Most definitely. You can specify via email which program you want your donation applied towards and donate on line, or you can mail your donation to our 701 East Cloumbia Street address with a written designation. It is that easy. Q: Do you only help Catholic people in need? A: We help anyone in need that is income qualified and a resident of one of the counties we serve. We do not judge with regard to race, religion, or ethnicity. People in need are simply that! We are here to HELP! Q: Do donations get shared with the Catholic Church? A: NO. Donations to our organization stay within the organization. We are governed by the ARCHDIOCESE OF CINCINNATI to make sure we comply with a code of ethics and standards. We also share services to reduce costs. Otherwise, we are self sufficient and held accountable to our Advisory Board and communities we serve. However, the Catholic Churches, as well as churches from a number of other denominations, support us through donations from congregates and volunteering. Q: How do I find out more about the Foodbank, other than what I read on you're website? A: You can contact our offices 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday of most weeks and arrange a personal tour for yourself or any group. Q: Our group wants to do a food drive to benefit the foodbank. How do we get started and what kinds of food do you need? A: Check out the "Events" page, scroll down to Food Drives, and use the contact information available. Most needed foods are can or jar goods (vegetables, soups, meats, etc.), boxed items (potato mixes, rice dishes, meal in a box, pastas, etc.), and personal care items (toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, etc.). These items are always in desperate need! Snacks and beverages, although they may seem desirable, are in abundance in the foodbank system at this time. Q: How do I purchase Empty Bowl products to help those in need? A: The bowls are sold at the event held on Wittenberg University campus each spring. The bowls are all hand made by the students, no two are alike, and supporters often have a tough time deciding which one they want, even buying more than one each! If enough interest is there, we may offer them on our website in coming years. Keep checking our website's event page! | |
